Yekaterinburg: Akademichesky District Among Russia’s Top 5 Projects

8 September 2016 (13:54)

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, August 8, 2016. Yekaterinburg’s Akademichesky District, KORTROS Corporation’s flagship project, is currently Russia’s fourth largest investment project in the building/development sector, INFOLine’s research findings indicate.

It is reported the project requires $15bn worth of investments in total, which figure makes Akademichesky unique both on Russia’s civil construction and housing markets. These are only the oil and gas industry and transport infrastructure development projects that actually cost more to implement.

Nearly all of the country’s top five largest-scale and costliest investment projects are private-public partnerships, including Akademichesky District, which is one of the main reasons why it proved such a success.

9m m2 worth of housing as well as social, transport, and recreational infrastructure are being created within the framework of this development project. The district will eventually become home to as many as 350,000 people.
