EVRAZ NTMK to Save 10m Kilowatt-Hours per Year with New Equipment
21 July 2016 (10:55)
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, July 21, 2016. EVRAZ Holding’s Nizhniy Tagil Integrated Metallurgical Works (NTMK) recently launched a new compressed-air dehydration unit; the air is needed in the metal-rolling process. The new equipment is expected to cut energy spending by 10m kilowatt-hours a year, the company press service reports.
Two highly productive dehydrators got commissioned to remove excess humidity and impurities from the air. The air gets dried and filtered with their help. The unit is fully automated, with all the necessary settings calibrated remotely.
The new machines produce an improvement in the compressed air quality, reduce the amount of such air the plant’s rolling departments require by 30% to 40%, and ensure the smooth and unfailing performance of mills at the beam-rolling, rail-and-beam, ball mill, and heavy milling departments.
