MMK Holds Welcome Day for Suppliers
5 April 2016 (15:23)
UrBC, Magnitogorsk, Chelyabinsk Region, April 5, 2016. Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) has organized a Welcome Day for its suppliers for the fourteenth time this month. Within one year these monthly meetings were introduced, seventy-nine different companies have taken part already. Fourteen companies’ representatives attended the last meeting.
‘The unfailingly high number of participants is one proof that these meetings provide more transparency for our purchasing processes on the one hand and allow MMK to obtain more information about its new suppliers and the new products on their markets on the other,’ the company reports.
The first such meeting was coordinated on March 5, 2015 and was attended by representatives of six companies, including both metal goods manufacturers and repair and construction contractors. Since then, the meeting is held every last Thursday of the month in the form of a round table discussion moderated by MMK Deputy Director-General for Commerce Sergei Ushakov, whose idea it actually was to have these meetings in the first place.
