A work meeting of two strategic partners, Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) and Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant (ChTPZ), was held in Yekaterinburg. The meeting was attended by MMK Director-General Boris Dubrovsky and ChTPZ DG Yaroslav Zhdan as well as by experts from the production, commercial, and logistics departments of both companies.
The parties agreed on the basic commercial terms of their cooperation. The attendees discussed the prospects of the two companies joining the pipeline development projects in Russia and the CIS in 2012-2013, agreed on the important commercial terms for the delivery of goods produced at Mill 5000, and came up with joint logistics solutions for the wide sheet transportation.
‘Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works has been one of our major high quality steel suppliers for many years. We hold coordination councils and scheduled meetings with MMK on a regular basis and we have had extensive evidence of our partners’ willingness to support us in every way and to work together on the largest projects in the fuel and energy complex,’ Zhdan said.
‘MMK and ChTPZ are two companies that are very similar in terms of being client-oriented, in the scale of investing in production upgrades, and in terms of other business processes. This factor contributes positively to our cooperation and the development of our relationship,’ Dubrovsky noted.
