UrBC, Yekaterinburg, November 18, 2015. Around 100 villages might get liquidated in Sverdlovsk Region, the constituency’s Deputy Construction Minister Vladimir Veniaminov said at a Legislative Assembly session.
According to Veniaminov, an inventory of local villages and settlements was carried out which made it clear that many of these were not lived in on a regular basis.
‘So the approximate number of settlements that need to be either liquidated or preserved is now clear. There are about a hundred of them,’ he said.
Deputy Chair of Local Government Committee Galina Artemieva said some of these places would be merged, in administrative terms, with neighboring villages.
