UrBC, Chelyabinsk, September 7, 2017. A solemn welcoming ceremony for this year’s students enrolled on the Future of White Metallurgy Corporate Training Program took place at A.V. Yakovlev Chelyabinsk Vocational School this week, ChTPZ Group’s press service reports.
Student IDs were given to 150 16-year-old school-leavers. Top managers of ChTPZ Group’s Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant, Chelyabinsk Region Education Ministry officials, and representatives of A.V. Yakovlev Chelyabinsk Vocational School all took part in the ceremony.
The Future of White Metallurgy Corporate Training Program is a private-public partnership project coordinated by ChTPZ Group, Chelyabinsk Region Government, and Chelyabinsk State Industrial & Liberal Arts School. This is a dual education program, with 40% of study time spent in the classroom and 60% of time spent practicing at a plant.
‘This year, over 50% of 16-year-olds decided to go on studying in vocational schools. This trend mostly has to do with the labor market’s increased demand for blue-collar workers. Now young people in the Southern Urals also have the option to train as metallurgical sector workers on our Future of White Metallurgy Corporate Training Program,’ says ChTPZ Group’s HR Director Svetlana Kuzminykh.
