October 14, 2014. On October 10, 2014, the Russian Federation Ministry of Defense coordinated its Military Produce Acceptance Day, and Uraltransmash DG Alexei Nosov apprised the Russian Defense Minister General Sergei Shoigu of the fact that the enterprise’s three-year contract for the production and delivery of 152-mm self-propelled howitzers 2S19M2 had been fulfilled, Uralvagonzavod Corporation’s press service reports.

‘Our 2S19M2 152-mm self-propelled howitzer was a result of designer improvements of self-propelled howitzer Msta. The 2S19M2 model is a highly mobile, full-track combat vehicle with rocket and quick-firing loading weaponry as well as WMD-protection devices. The howitzer meets all the modern artillery requirements and can be used for firing at targets from sheltered fire positions as well as over open sights,’ Uralvagonzavod Corporation says.

According to the corporation, Uraltransmash’s self-propelled weapon has enhanced firing speed, which means one howitzer can now conduct a fire attack with a variety of projectiles, with up to six shots reaching one and the same target. The machine is fully automated and computer-aided and is fitted with concealment devices (that is, protection from radar, thermal, and optical detection). This 2S19M2 howitzer remains one of the most powerful weapons in its category to date.
