March 6, 2014. A solemn opening ceremony of Russia's Junior Female Boxing Championship took place at the sports club of Uralvagonzavod. The championship is dedicated to Natalia Ragozina, the world's absolute boxing champion among professional players and Deserved Master of Sports. Uralvagonzavod acted as the general sponsor of the event as it did in 2013.

According to the corporation's press service, 294 young women from eight Russian Federation constituencies are going to compete in the championship. Sports women from Chelyabinsk, Altai, Kemerov, and Penza Regions, and from Dagestan, Komi, Karelia, Yamalo-Nenetsky Autonomous Region, and Khanty-Mansiysky Autonomous Region as well as other parts of Russia came to the event.

'The championship will last for a week. On March 5-9, the young women will meet for preliminary matches. The semi-final and final matches will be held on March 10 and 11. The fights will take place every day. The contestants will compete in two age groups: those born in 1998-1999 and those born in 1996-1997. 269 fights will be held altogether. On the first day of the competition, 40 pairs of fighters will meet on the ring. The young women will fight in three two-minute rounds (in four rounds for the younger contestants).
