January 20, 2014. In 2013, Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant (a member of ChTPZ Group) cut down on the energy resources spending by more than 4% in comparison with the year 2012, the enterprise's press service reports.
The savings stemmed from the launch of energy-saving lighting fixtures at the plant departments and installing an automated system at the compressor equipment unit, and complying with the lighting schedule and upgrading the system for the revenue metering of electric power. Last year, PNTZ stopped outsourcing the maintenance of its information and measurement systems and created its own division using the plant's existing employees.
'Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant is working hard on energy-saving. While our pipe output increased by 2.3% in 2013, we were still able to economize in terms of nearly all the energy resources we use. This was possible due to ChTPZ Group's production philosophy (called White Metallurgy) based on lean production principles,' says PNTZ Executive Director Alexander Belenkov.
Now in December 2013 PNTZ was declared to win Sverdlovsk Region Governor Prize for Energy-Saving in the Mining & Metallurgical Company category. The savings amounted to more than 110m RUR.
