Uralvagonzavod presents 8 new special vehicles at Russia Arms Expo 2013

September 27, 2013. Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation presented as many as eight new special vehicles at the International Arms, Military Vehicles, and Ammunition Exhibition Russia Arms Expo 2013.
The holding's press service reports that the new fire support combat vehicle BMPT-72, also known as Terminator-2 (a modification of the T72 tank), is the primary feature of the event. This unique development will be presented to the public on the second day of the exhibition. The corporation pays special attention to upgrading the T72, so Uralvagonzavod's new product range features two modernized T72 tanks that are also new.
The first make is the modernized T72 tank with a set of protective devices that are meant for keeping the tank and the crew safe when action takes place in some urban environment where anti-tank means are used (unlading some radiocontrolled explosive devices).
The second make is the modernized T72 tank with Arena-E, an defensive aids set. Arena-E is meant to protect the tank against such anti-tank means as LAWs, artillery hollow charge shells and anti-tank guided missiles, including those that explode when flying over a tank.
