200 new students to embark on The Future of White Metallurgy Course on September 1

August 29, 2013. 50 extra budget-funded fellowships were allocated by Sverdlovsk Region Education Ministry to Pervouralsk Metallurgical College. This is a unique case among secondary vocational education establishments, as most students don’t even have to compete to get into places of this kind, ChTPZ Group’s press service reports.
The thing is, this college is hugely popular with applicants because of the ChTPZ Group’s Future of White Metallurgy Project: there were 2.5 applicants per one student position on this program this year.
‘The interest in the Future of White Metallurgy Program that is now being implemented jointly with Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant (a member of ChTPZ Group) is growing exponentially. Increasingly more school-leavers want to study with us. This is why the additional fellowships from the local budget will mean we are going to have 225 rather than 175 students this year,’ says Director of Pervouralsk Metallurgical College Irina Teslina.
The number of students from outside Pervouralsk is on the rise as well: students come from Kazakhstan, Bashkortostan, Tyumen Region, Kurgan Region, Perm Territory, Yekaterinburg, and Sverdlovsk Region’s smaller towns.
The greatest number of applications (65) was submitted for the Metal Working Process Program: this is the primary specialization offered through the Future of White Metallurgy Program. Electric equipment and vehicle engineering are two other popular trends; the latter was only introduced to the project this year.
