August 20, 2013. Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant’s produce – ceramic flux (a powder used in the welding process) was certified by the National Welding Control Agency. By now, the Agency issued four certificates to confirm four varieties of ceramic flux - UF-N, UF-01, UF-02, and UF-03.
Now ChTPZ Group has been producing ceramic flux since 2004; the second extension of the Ceramic flux project was launched in 2012, so the production capacity doubled and came to 14,000 tons a year; the launch of this new line made ChTPZ one of Russia and Europe’s largest ceramics producers. At the same time, ChTPZ-produced flux is 10% to 40% cheaper than its foreign counterparts. The up-to-date technological equipment makes it possible to produce a wide range of high quality produce: the company makes six varieties of flux and is developing new product kinds into the bargain. The goods undergo a multi-stage quality control process, so the ceramic flux production process meets the ISO 9001:2011, ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:2007, and API Spec Q1 requirements.
ChTPZ ceramic flux can be used for producing metal structures, in the metallurgical industry, in the ship-building and bridge-building sectors, in the energy industry, and in the transport machine-building industry. ChTPZ Group uses its own flux to make large-diameter welded pipes that meet the strictest internal and external markets quality control requirements. Using this ceramic flux in the welding process instead of the obsolete fused flux improves the quality of the welding line and enhances its technological properties thanks to micro-alloying; the ceramic flux is 30% to 40% more economical than the fused one.
