UDMZ congratulates Baltic Fleet on 310th anniversary

May 23, 2013. The staff of Ural Diesel Engine Plant (UDMZ, a member of Sinara Transport Machines) sent a special wire to the higher command of the Baltic Fleet on the eve of its 310th anniversary. The wire said, ‘We are proud to know that UDMZ produce is used for the production of new warships, which means the company’s personnel are making their contribution to the creation of Russia’s modern military fleet,’ Sinara Group’s PR Department reports.

The three corvettes built at the Northern Shipyard: the Steregushchiy, the Soobrazitelny, and the Boikiy, all of which use UDMZ diesel generators as their primary energy unit, took part in the warship parade on the Neva in Saint Petersburg to celebrate the 310th anniversary of the Baltic Fleet. This April, the Boikiy completed its government-monitored mechanical run tests at the military ranges, and the flag-raising ceremony took place at the ship for the first time on May 16. The ship was thus solemnly added to the Baltic Fleet.

UDMZ Director-General Nikolai Ovchinnikov says the plant has supplied 28 diesel generators onto the Northern Shipyard over the last six years. At the moment, the Stoikiy corvette is about to get assembled, and this ship has 4 ADG-630 diesel generators.

‘The Russian Defense Ministry has nearly doubled its order for UDMZ this year, and our workers will do their best to make sure the military sailors are offered good quality produce,’ Ovchinnikov noted.
