April 10, 2013. A major railway vehicles manufacturer Bombardier Transportation and Russia’s leading railway vehicles producer Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation (UVZ) are now presenting their joint proposals for Russia at Germany’s largest fair Hannover Messe, UVZ press officer reports.

This year, Russia is a partner country for the forum that is dedicated to the global industry. The opening of the fair was actually attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel.

UVZ and Bombardier Transportation presented a new stage of their program on the design and production of new underground carriages that were specifically developed so as to meet the requirements of the Moscow Underground; these carriages are also ready to be launched in other cities around the CIS. Russia is now getting its transport infrastructure upgraded very fast in order to get ready for the international sports events in 2014-2018, including the winter Olympics and the World Cup.
