December 6, 2012. Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation’s head plant came up with a report on the preliminary results of the year’s performance. It is already clear that the year 2012 was very successful for the company, the corporation’s press service reports.

This is true of all the basic divisions: the carriage- and mechanical assembly ones as well as the metallurgical one. Uralvagonzavod actually managed to exceed the target figures set before the workers at the beginning of the year. For one, this year’s expected number of carriages was manufactured as early as late November. In 2011, 23,662 railway vehicles were made in eleven months, whereas in 2012, 25,678 units had been made by December. This is 8.5% more than a year earlier. The railway carriage manufacturers were responsible for the better part of sales revenues: their share of gondola car sales and cistern sales came to 52.7% (80.7bn RUR) and 14.5% of the total amount, respectively. As of December 1, the company’s net profit is 9.8bn RUR.

The manufacturers of special product types also performed very well over the last few months: both their export contracts and government orders are fulfilled in full. Also, two of the mechanical assembly department workers were given the Russian Quality Leader Award for their efficient performance.

‘All our departments worked really well. Our tasks for the next year are keeping on working efficiently and showing the same great productivity at all of our divisions,’ says Uralvagonzavod Executive Director Vladimir Roshchupkin.
