November 1, 2012. The workers of Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant (ChTPZ) took part in a traveling seminar coordinated by Gazprom’s daughter enterprise Gazprom Dobycha Nadym. 20 workers, whose positions in ChTPZ range from those of production department engineers to new product designers to heads of key customer liaising teams, attended the event, the plant’s press officer reports.

The training program is meant to give the pipe manufacturers a very detailed idea of modern natural gas production technologies. For one, Gazprom Dobycha Nadym experts gave talks on the relevant methods of natural gas pre-treatment and on the development and maintenance of natural gas deposits and gas condensate fields. The theoretical part of the training was complemented by visits to Medvezhye and Yuzhnoye deposits, where ChTPZ representatives could see how their produce is used in the Far North.

The seminar was finished off with a round table discussion on the ways of using pipes on Gazprom Dobycha Nadym’s sites. The company is now working on its Bovanenkovskoye deposit which signified the start of natural gas production in Russia’s new natural gas-rich region, Yamal. ChTPZ was in charge of supplying materials for the construction of a new generation main pipeline network Bovanenkovo-Ukhta. The deposit was launched the day before the seminar with the pipe manufacturers began.
