MMK Invests Over 120m RUR in Employee Training

Last year, Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) invested over 120m RUR in employee training.

12,883 employees took part in various professional development, re-training, and second specialization programs, including 6,747 blue-collar workers and 6,136 managers, experts, and clerks. The majority of workers (4,241 people) attended purpose-oriented courses last year, while 1,603 people underwent re-training programs, 339 people attended production & technical courses, and 564 people obtained a second qualification. MMK’s employee training spending amounted to 121.3m RUR last year.

In addition, 1,864 workers underwent advance training courses at the federal budget’s expense, of whom 790 people obtained a second qualification, 176 people attended production & technical courses, 706 people attended purpose-oriented courses, and 192 people underwent re-training programs. This cost 13.5m RUR.

‘Every year, MMK elaborates and implements training programs for these or those categories of employees that are based on the educational needs analysis and applications submitted by our departments. MMK’s professional development and re-training scheme covers all groups of workers. One of MMK’s educational priorities is training workers for our newly launched facilities and advance professional training of our employees,’ the company reports.
