UAZ’s trade union turns down pay plan
9 April 2010 (12:34)
The trade union of OAO SUAL’s Ural smelter (UAZ) placed its disapproval of the new pay and bonuses plan for Kamensk-Uralskiy-based Rus-Engineering’s workers with the employer.
According to their press service, the negotiations between the trade union and UAZ’s management did not end in a consensus, so the two parties signed a protocol of disagreement.
The trade union believes the bonus-paying scheme must be very clear so that every employee could know exactly what kind of work performance will be awarded with a premium. For one, the current plan does not state that the monthly bonuses can reach up to 20% of the managers, skilled workers, and white-collar workers’ pay. The proposals on increased payments for running a team are not mentioned either, so an employee who acts as a foreman is not really motivated to perform now.
