World Computer Programming Championship contestants arrive in Yekaterinburg

June 23, 2014. Contestants in and visitors to the 38th World Computer Programming Championship ACM-ICPC 2014 are beginning to arrive in Yekaterinburg. The event coordinators expect 1,200 students (representatives of 243 universities from 49 different countries) to come to the championship altogether. The computer programming championship will be held in Yekaterinburg on June 22-26. The first selection stage will take place at Uralochka Sports Center, and the final stage will take place at Cosmos Concert Hall. Uralvagonzavod to restore hotels and cafes

June 23, 2014. Breeze Café was reopened in Nizhniy Tagil’s Dzerzhinskiy District after a renovation; the café is located within company Sportivnaya 2 Hotel (an enterprise run by Uralvagonzavod Corporation’s head plant). Governor of Sverdlovsk Region visits Seversky Pipe Plant

June 23, 2014. Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Evgeniy Kuivashev paid a visit to Seversky Pipe Plant (STZ, a member enterprise of Pipe Metallurgical Company/TMK) on June 19, 2014. According to TMK’s press service, the Governor started his tour from examining the suburban residential area called the Birch Tree Grove that had been put up by the plant. STZ Managing Director Mikhail Zuyev put the Governor in the picture of how the company employee housing program was moving on. The first section of the cottages was put up in 2011; it comprises 122 two-storey cottages with the area of 156 sq m each.

Number of MegaFon’s subscribers who use roaming services rises 45%

June 23, 2014. The number of MegaFon Ural’s subscribers who use roaming to communicate while traveling abroad has risen by 45% since the vacation season took off. The mobile carrier’s experts say July is likely to become the peak month in terms of roaming calls, so the company expects a booming interest in all the options that could help a subscriber save money while on vacation, the company’s press service reports. According to J’son & Partners’ analysts, 80% of Russians who traveled abroad last year actually used roaming services. ‘The summer of 2014 has seen a new trend: locals are
