Khortytsa (aka Hortiza) Distillery has successfully undergone an audit procedure and has been certified in accordance with ISO 22000 international standards. The company’s press officer reports their produce is now brought in full compliance with the ISO 22000 requirements introduced in 2005 by the International Organization for Standardization. These requirements were based on ISO 9001 standards as well as on the principles outlined by НАССР (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points). The standard lays special emphasis on compliance with the legal norms and regulations in terms of production and on thorough analysis of all the operations.

‘The unquestionable quality of Khortytsa-made drinks is an essential and obligatory characteristic that cannot emerge on its own, though; it requires strict control and management by the company. And we are proud to say that our produce does possess this characteristic, which makes Khortytsa Ukraine’s No.1 on the strong drinks market. Khortytsa’s sales amounted to 28% of all the sales on the strong drinks market in March 2007,’ Quality Director of Khortytsa Distillery Vera Morshna observes.

Khortytsa Distillery employs the most advanced ways of production and quality management; there are only a few hundred Russian companies at the moment that actually base their performance on HACCP principles. According to experts’ estimates, introduction of ISO 22000 system works best with companies that have already been using ISO 9001 quality management scheme.

Khortytsa had ISO 9001:2000 quality management system introduced in 2006 and underwent pre-certification audit procedures conducted by Bureau Veritas Quality International Ukraine in July 2006. This helped the company improve all of its business processes from buying supplies to delivering the product to the end user. Now, Ukraine’s consumer rights watchdog states Khortytsa is the only brand that has never had its produce adulterated.
