‘The subscribers of MegaFon Ural, the mobile operator, appear to be ever-interested in our EDGE/GPRS services; our Internet traffic consumption, for instance, went up 2.5 times last year,’ PR Director of MegaFon Ural Lyudmila Protasova said to UrBC.

‘MegaFon Ural has been investing heavily in the development of additional services as well as making them conveniently accessible. Our EDGE/GPRS services are included in the basic service package and are thus available as soon as one gets connected to MegaFon; there is also an automatic settings system that can be obtained through the phone SIM menu, the company’s website, or a text message free of charge,’ Ms Protasova says.

‘The company’s clients can now benefit from all the advantages of non-voice services such as access to our entertainment portals like MegaFonPRO, viewing e-mails, downloading mobile content via a WAP-click instantaneously, mobile radio and much else besides,’ she said.
