Metallurgical Industrial Complex of Nizhniy Tagil launches flu vaccination campaign

21 November 2006 (14:56)

Metallurgical Industrial Complex of Nizhniy Tagil (part of Evraz Group) has bought over 9,000 portions of flu vaccines in order to prevent an epidemic. According to the special schedule, every third employee of the company will have been vaccinated within two or three weeks’ time, which is believed to prevent the massive outbreaks of the disease. The medical staff are using Vacigripp made by Sanofi Paster of France; this vaccine has already proved to be quite effective during the earlier epidemic seasons. The vaccine has been delivered to all of the company’s 26 medical aid posts, and the immunization is free; every employee who has no contraindications can be vaccinates at any time that suits them.

The Complex has been having its workers immunized for six years already, and thanks to this measure, the company’s premises as well as the residential areas occupied by metallurgists have been flu-free since 1999. Besides, the Complex also launches tick-borne encephalitis, diphtheria, and hepatitis vaccination campaigns on regular basis. Protecting the health of its employees is one of the most important provisions of the Collective agreement of the Complex, reports the press officer for Metallurgical Industrial Complex of Nizhniy Tagil.
