EVRAZ Holds Flu Vaccination Campaign
17 October 2016 (14:15)
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, October 17, 2016. EVRAZ Holding’s Kachkanar Ore Mining & Processing Enterprise (KGOK) and Nizhniy Tagil Integrated Metallurgical Works (NTMK) are now holding their yearly flu vaccination campaigns at the plants’ medical units. The two companies bought over 6,000 vaccines for the purpose, the holding’s press service reports.
The workers are offered a modern, good quality vaccine that has been in use for a while now and proved to be efficient against a range of flu viruses. Immunization shots are available at the two plants’ twenty-four medical units 24/7. The campaign covers not only those located in Nizhniy Tagil and Kachkanar but also people in Kushva, where NTMK runs a lime-burning department. All the vaccines are offered to workers free of charge.
This vaccination is an ongoing process, with NTMK and KGOK workers receiving some 6,000 encephalitis shots and around 1,000 diphtheria, tetanus, and Hep A shots throughout the year. This helps to bring the infection rate down.
