New equipment acquired for mechanical-repair department of Vysokogorskiy Ore Mining and Processing Enterprise

15 November 2006 (12:52)

The mechanical-repair department of Vysokogorskiy Ore Mining and Processing Enterprise (part of Evraz Group) is now capable of producing very long parts of agglomeration equipment. The parts of this sort used to be outsource components, but now that the shop has been fitted with the new screw-cutting lathe (which has already been tested), the company’s mechanics have for the first time made five-meter-long shafts for Lebyazhinskiy agglomeration shop and screws for the jawbreaker located in Vysokogorskiy processing plant. The preliminary testing has shown that the new equipment operates rather reliably and allows the workers to produce the parts needed with high precision and no delay.

There are three screw-cutting lathes in the department altogether. All of them were given overhaul in October 2006, which included renovation of the foundation slabs and fixing the main joints as well as the feeding box responsible for regulating the speed of the chisel, reports the spokesperson for Vysokogorskiy Ore Mining and Processing Enterprise.
