Metallurgical Industrial Complex of Nizhniy Tagil (part of Evraz Group) has set up an organizational committee responsible for getting ready for the International Young Experts’ Conference. The committee consists of the company’s Chief Engineer and the directors of most shops as well as directors of some departments. The conference will take place at the end of November and will be made up of ten specialized sections (metallurgical processing, transportation, power engineering, IT-technologies and personnel management). The applications have already been received from all of Russia’s metallurgical enterprises as well as from those located in the Ukraine and Byelorussia. The applicants (who must be under 30) have to develop their own project aimed at dealing with a specific production problem, cutting prime cost, improving the quality of the produce, perfecting the production technology, or creating better working environment. The project must be practically applicable.

Each section will normally include 10 to 15 reports, followed by deciding of the three best projects whose authors will receive bonuses of 3,500 RUR to 5,500 RUR.

The first conference of this kind was held by the Complex in 1998. Since then, a lot of young and ambitious metallurgists have used it as a career springboard; some of today’s directors of the company actually started to climb the corporate ladder from here. Thanks to this annual forum, the company’s young employees have an opportunity for self-expression and revealing their creative potential as well as for active participation in the corporate development program, reports the spokesperson for Metallurgical Industrial Complex of Nizhniy Tagil.
