Employees of Metallurgical Industrial Complex of Nizhniy Tagil to take part in professional craftsmanship contest

33 employees of Metallurgical Industrial Complex of Nizhniy Tagil (part of Evraz Group) are going to take part in the professional skills competition called The Best Young Worker of Evraz. The competition is held by the company in order to give the personnel a chance for self-expression as well as to make the blue-collar jobs more prestigious. Over 100 young employees of Russian metallurgical and ore mining enterprises that belong to Evraz Group participate in the competition every year. The winners are awarded with special certificates and impressive remunerations.

The tour devoted to assessment of the applicants’ professional craftsmanship will take place in Novokuznetsk on November 23-24, 2006. Among the contestants are the representatives of 11 professions: blast furnace keepers, steelmakers, rollermen, stove tenders, breakdown mechanics, electricians, electric welders, lathe hands, assistants to foot-platemen, crane operators and lorry drivers will have to pass the theoretical and practical exams, with the winner chosen by the panel of assessors made up of Evraz experts. The metallurgists from Metallurgical Industrial Complex of Nizhniy Tagil will compete for all the nominations; last year, they won 13 prizes, reports the spokesperson for Evraz Group.
