EVRAZ Directs RUB 500,000 to Chemistry Lab Upgrades in Nizhniy Tagil School

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, January 27, 2020. EVRAZ directed RUB 500,000 to repairs and upgrades at Chemistry Lab in Nizhniy Tagil’s Mining & Metallurgical School, EVRAZ Holding Ural’s Corporate Communications Center reports.
The funds donated by EVRAZ were used to purchase a media projector, an interactive whiteboard, a laptop, a digital microscope, a set of digital chemistry labs, sets of models of chemical equipment, reagents and consumable materials, crystallizing pans, learning aids, individual protective gear, and furniture for the teacher and students.
‘The students can now carry out experiments with a mini express lab and do environmental research such as testing the quality of air and tap water samples.
Fitting the lab with up-to-date appliances will boost the students’ motivation to learn chemistry as well as their interest in STEM jobs that the market now needs,’ the company says.
EVRAZ Nizhniy Tagil Integrated Metallurgical Plant’s Coke & Chemical By-Product Process Department acts as the patron of the school. The department’s head and Nizhniy Tagil Duma Deputy Nikita Berkutov went there himself.
