EVRAZ Enterprises Are Sverdlovsk Region’s Best Benefactors in 2019

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 27, 2019. EVRAZ Holding’s member enterprises EVRAZ Nizhniy Tagil Integrated Metallurgical Plant (EVRAZ NTMK) and EVRAZ Kachkanarsky Ore Mining & Processing Plant (EVRAZ KGOK) proved Sverdlovsk Region’s best benefactors in the year 2019.

According to EVRAZ Holding Ural’s Corporate Communications Center, EVRAZ NTMK was No.1 benefactor among the country’s ferrous metallurgical enterprises and EVRAZ KGOK was No.1 benefactor among the companies in the ore mining sector. EVRAZ Holding’s data indicate that the company’s Ural division directed more than RUB 2bn to social welfare and charity programs in 2019.

This year, the new sports facility EVRAZ Arena Olymp was opened in Kachkanar with support from EVRAZ Holding. Additionally, the roller-ski piste Zvezdochka was launched in town as well, Gornyak Stadium got reconstructed, and the construction of Martial Arts Palace and Ice Sports Palace began. The company also signed an agreement to get new equipment for Kachkanar Mining Industrial School. Also, some money was directed to repairs of educational establishments, road-building, housing reconstruction, a project for the construction of a pipeline, and the construction of New Year’s snow fortress. Finally, EVRAZ keeps supporting Kachkanar’s School for Unarmed Self-Defense & Judo and Gornyak-EVRAZ Football Club.

‘As for Nizhniy Tagil, ten new labs, workshops, and classrooms got launched at the city’s schools and colleges this year thanks to EVRAZ Holding’s support. A students’ design bureau now operates in Nizhniy Tagil Tech Institute (a branch of Ural Federal University), and two new student labs for Metal Treatment under Pressure and for Steel-Making Technologies & Metallurgical Equipment opened at Nizhniy Tagil Mining & Metallurgical School. With EVRAZ Holding’s support, a new GAZel passenger/cargo minibus got purchased for Nizhniy Tagil Museum Preserve to transfer exhibits between the museum branches and to be used in ethnographic tours,’ the company says.
