EVRAZ Directs RUR 2.5m to Nizhniy Tagil Labs

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, October 16, 2017. EVRAZ Holding directed over RUR 2.5m to two school labs in Nizhniy Tagil that need equipment, EVRAZ Holding Ural’s PR Department reports.

The company funded new appliances for Ural Federal University Nizhniy Tagil Technological Institute’s General & Experimental Physics Laboratory and for Nizhniy Tagil Mining & Metallurgical School’s CAD Engineering Design Laboratory. Both colleges are key providers of EVRAZ Holding’s Nizhniy Tagil Integrated Metallurgical Works’ hiring pool.

The physics lab now has 118 kinds of demonstration and measuring equipment that can be used to study all fields of physics from optics to thermodynamics. EVRAZ funded ultrasound distance measuring sensors, humidity sensors, ionization radiation and light sensors, pressure gauges, an audio signal generator, scales, and a range of test tubes. These are all meant to help students learn about the properties of electric current in a vacuum, photo-effect, gas and steam absorbance and radiation spectrum, and other things. The lab is fitted with videocameras to show very small microscope images, with laptops, and multimedia appliances. The lab also bought study sets for school students getting ready for their end-of-school state exams and films about physics.

The engineering design lab is meant to help students study computer-aided design, so EVRAZ funded its new sixteen up-to-date computers and the necessary software. Additionally, two toolboxes with all the tools and templates, a 3D design software license, a router, a metal tool case, and Artisan Rendering package were provided. The latter makes it possible to create very lifelike images of goods and buildings.
