9 October 2019 (09:10)
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, October 9, 2019. New Coalface 5а-7-34 (estimated coal reserves: 3,000,000,000 kg) got commissioned at EVRAZ Holding’s Raspadskaya Coal Company’s Raspadskaya Mine, the company’s press service reports.
‘The miners completed all the installation/dismantling jobs, main development operations, and narrow work. Teams from Sections 7, 15, 28, and 30 had to work through over 5.8km of the mine opening,’ the press service says.
The new section of the coalface is 2,160 meters long. The place is fitted with all the necessary highly productive equipment, which means more than 600,000,000 kg can get extracted by the end of the year.
One of Raspadskaya Coal Company’s best stoping teams — Alexei Ivanov’s team from Section 17 — will be working on the new coalface.
‘Great attention has been paid to industrial safety. Work was done to ensure proper airing and draining out of gases. 16 up-to-date explosion suppression units have been installed in the mine, while digital air and gas control sensors and conveyor belt and cutter-loader cameras ensure 24/7 monitoring of the tech processes under the ground,’ Raspadskaya Coal Company’s representatives say.
The coalface has some 3,000,000,000 kg of valuable GZh coal, which is scheduled to get fully extracted by the end 2020.
The coal gets sent to Raspadskaya Processing Plant and is then supplied to metallurgical and coke-chemical enterprises in Russia, the CIS, and Southeast Asia.
