UrBC, Magnitogorsk, October 16, 2019. The quality certificates for metal goods made at Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) now all have a QR code on them, MMK’s Information & PR Department reports.

Customers can now use their smartphone or tablet to check whether the quality certificate is authentic.

‘To do so, you need to scan the QR code and get an e-copy of the certificate onto your smartphone. The service has been available since June 2019. The QR codes have been enabled by MMK Group’s MMK InformService and MMK’s Quality Control & Acceptance Department,’ the company says.

Prior to this new option, the quality certificates could get authenticated on the company’s website and required the details of a specific certificate. The new solution is part of MMK’s large-scale digitalization strategy that is meant to both cut production costs and make the service more customer-convenient.
