UrBC, Yekaterinburg, October 16, 2019. EVRAZ Holding’s Raspadskaya Coal Company directed RUB 10m to dam overhaul in Zapadny, Mezhdurechensk, the company’s PR Department reports.
This was part of EVRAZ’s urban improvement program; the work on the site started in the spring, and the renovated dam got reopened on October 11.
‘All the planning and implementation got handled by Mezhdurechensk Council. 2.7km of the dam got renovated. For the first time, asphalt pavements, street lighting, two viewing platforms overlooking the Usa River, and benches all got installed in the area. Flights of stairs now lead down to the river, with railing and sliding fixtures for people with disabilities. The site also has parking spots for both cars and bicycles, children’s and sports playgrounds, and the town’s first dog-walking area,’ the company says.
‘Mezhdurechensk now has one more wonderful recreation venue for all the locals to enjoy. These projects would be impossible if the town authorities and businesses failed to work closely together. The projects benefit everyone; the town grows more attractive; and people living in Zapadny (some of whom are our employees) can now walk along the new embankment in style,’ says HR Director at Raspadskaya Coal Company Andrei Chirykin.
