Sverdlovsk Region: RUB 312,000 Worth of Fake Bills Detected in Circulation

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, August 8, 2019. 75 forged banknotes got detected within Sverdlovsk Region's banking system in the second quarter of 2019 (total value: RUB 312,000).
According to the Central Bank of Russia's Ural division, the majority of these banknotes (59 units) were fake 5,000-ruble bills.
1,000-ruble banknotes come next (12 units), followed by 2 500-ruble bills, 2 2,000-ruble bills, and 2 U.S. Dollar bills.
'193 forged Russian banknotes got detected and removed from Sverdlovsk Region's banking sector in the first half of the year altogether; this was 23% less than one year earlier, when 251 fake bills were detected,' the division says.
