UrBC, Magnitogorsk, June 7, 2019. Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) plans to work with Deloitte to develop the company’s digitization strategy; the agreement to this effect was signed at Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum this week.
According to MMK’s Information, Advertising & PR Department, the plant decided to have its digital portfolio upgraded as part of the company development strategy for 2019-2025. Deloitte will have to design a roadmap for MMK’s digitization in the medium term. The roadmap will cover the most efficient project that will help the company reach its strategic goals faster and enhance its business efficiency considerably.
‘MMK and Deloitte are long-time partners. Deloitte has proven, more than once, to be a highly competent consultant on a range of issues of strategical importance to MMK. I hope this digital transformation project we are doing together will prove just as efficient and mutually beneficial,’ says Director for Economic Issues at MMK Andrei Yeremin.
Based on their preliminary research, Deloitte experts say advanced technologies would have a great future at the plant, as MMK already has a long and vast digital history and an expansive production data base that gets updated in real-time mode.
‘The many years of MMK team’s work to introduce IT-based technology and production quality management systems and their efforts to make their produce trackable can serve as the excellent foundation for business digitization. Deloitte, on its part, will bring its inter-industry expertise and its experience with innovations into the project, which will reveal MMK’ digital potential to the fullest and will help design the plant’s development plans,’ says Deloitte Consulting Department’s Alexander Oleynik.
