MMK Takes Part in Steel Conference in Rostov-on-Don

UrBC, Magnitogorsk, June 3, 2019. Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) was once again acknowledged as Russia’s largest supplier of rolled metal goods for welded pipe manufacturers during a recent conference, the company’s Information & PR Department refers to MMK’s Head of Sales to Pipe Manufacturers Alexander Kadoshnikov as stating.
The 9th Steel Pipe Industry Regional Sales Conference took place in Rostov-on-Don. Kadoshnikov gave a talk there and said that the pipe-making industry was one of MMK’s key home market customers, with over 25% of the plant’s Russian market sales being sales to pipe manufacturers. Last year, 3,300,000,000 kg of MMK’s hot-rolled metal goods got sold on the Russian market, 56% of which went to the pipe-makers. (In 2017, the figure was 3,200,000,000 kg, and in 2016, the figure was 3,100,000,000 kg.)
Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works itself makes round, zinc-coated, and (since 2017) shaped pipes. The plant sold 60,000,000 kg of pipes on the home market in 2018 (including 11,100,000 kg of zinc-coated ones). In 2019, the sales are expected to remain on last year’s level as well.
