MMK Makes 1m Tons of Galvanized Goods

UrBC, Magnitogorsk, March 16, 2018. Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) proved Russia’s largest manufacturer of coated rolled products once again in 2017, MMK Senior Manager for Coated Metal Sales Alexei Oleynik announced at the 13th International Zinc-Coated and Paint-Coated Rolled Goods Conference in Moscow.
According to Oleynik, MMK sold 980,000,000 kg of zinc-coated products and 310,000,000 kg of goods with polymeric coating on the Russian market last year. This means the company’s share of the national galvanized goods market is now 31%, that of polymeric-coated goods market 15%.
The plant is also selling more produce abroad. In 2017, the company sold 25,000,000 kg of zinc-coated goods abroad (compared with 12,000,000 kg a year earlier), as well as 127,000,000 kg of zinc-coated goods sold to customers in the CIS member states (up 10,000,000 kg on a year earlier). Additionally, MMK also sold 53,000,000 kg of polymeric-coated goods to customers in the CIS member states (up 10,000,000 kg on a year earlier). This means the plant operated at maximum workload throughout all of last year and proved the coated metal goods market leader.
