UrBC, Yekaterinburg, June 3, 2019. Participants of EVRAZ Holding’s Children’s Foresight Program developed some twenty social and urban improvement projects for Nizhniy Tagil and Kachkanar. The schoolchildren intend to have the projects implemented within the next eight months and to present the results in December 2019, EVRAZ Holding Ural’s Corporate Communications Center reports.
The program participants presented their projects to their potential partners: Kachkanar and Nizhniy Tagil town councils, EVRAZ Holding, Social Investments Foundation, Department of Education, Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and the Entrepreneurs’ Support Fund.
The Children’s Foresight projects have to do with urban improvements and recreation programs for the locals. Students of School 49 in Nizhniy Tagil propose making a park in Tagilstroy more popular. Students of School 1 suggested putting up some artwork in the entryways of apartment buildings. Students from Polytechnic Gymnasium decided to restore the historic names of local bridges and put up special plaques for tourists. Students from School 81 want to design a games book and hand the copies out at kindergartens and children’s clubs (the idea is to reduce the young children’s screen time as well). Students from School 75/42 are now helping the elderly and plan to coordinate dance, English, and computer literacy workshops.
Students from Novikov School in Kachkanar are going to organize a series of quests dedicated to local history. Students from Valerianovskoye want to restore the war memorial in their area. School 2 will hold a children’s art contest and will then use the artwork to create banners that will decorate the buildings in Pervomayka. School 3 intends to paint over inappropriate street graffiti. Students from School 7 would like to plant some green alleys in town.
The town councils of both Kachkanar and Nizhniy Tagil promised to support the projects.
