UrBC, Yekaterinburg, November 21, 2019. EVRAZ Nizhniy Tagil Integrated Metallurgical Plant (EVRAZ NTMK) supplied more than 2,000 H-beams for the construction of Veer Mall in Yekaterinburg, EVRAZ Holding Ural’s Corporate Communications Center reports.

‘The building rests on a steel metal frame to ensure more durability and a longer lifespan. The solid-rolled H-beams are used in the bearing components called chord trusses. Thanks to the use of the H-beams, the building will remain very sturdy, since a solid-rolled beam can withstand greater load than a welded one; additionally, considerably less metal is required to make one. The beams got shipped through EVRAZ Metal InProm Trading Company,’ the company says.

EVRAZ NTMK’s hot-rolled beams get tested for strength and impact hardness and are suitable even for the territories in the Polar North, with temperatures below 70 degrees centigrade. EVRAZ NTMK is Russia’s only manufacturer of solid-rolled construction beams in the S390 and S440 strength grade; the plant makes over 300 different types of beams altogether.

Veer Mall is currently under construction in the north of Yekaterinburg (total area: 150,000+ m2). The facade of the building looks like a fan; there will also be a glass roof at the top. The mall has been scheduled for commissioning at the end of next year.
