UrBC, Yekaterinburg, April 17, 2019. Nikita Goryunov’s mining team (Head of Section 5: Yaroslav Yerchenko) were the first to produce 1,000,000,000 kg of coal at Uskovskaya Mine in the year 2019. This is the first time in EVRAZ Raspadskaya Coal Company’s history when the 1,000,000,000-kg benchmark gets hit in just 3.5 months, the company’s press service reports.
Raspadskaya Coal Company’s Director-General and EVRAZ Holding’s Vice President Sergey Stepanov thanked the miners for their efforts and wished them every success at work.
‘Uskovskaya Mine has a great team. Next year, the miners will start working on Coalface 48 that has enough coal to keep them busy for the next twenty years at least. I wish them to keep up with their high standards and work stably and safely,’ Stepanov said.
The coal in question comes from Coalface 50-20 that has been developed since November 2018. Everyone did their best to achieve this output, with miners from Sections 3 and 5, workers from Southern Kuzbass geological survey unit, Raspadskaya Coal Company’s assembly/reassembly and repair departments, and shaft and conveyor transport divisions all contributing greatly.
Nikita Goryunov’s team will keep working in Coalface 50-20 through July 2019. There are still around 4,000,000,000 kg of coal left there. Their next destination is Coalface 48 that is currently being prepared. New equipment will get used for this next project as well.
Uskovskaya Mine produces coal of the valuable GZh variety that gets processed at Kuznetskaya and Abashevskaya processing plants and then gets sent to EVRAZ Holding’s Russia-based metallurgical enterprises and to customers in Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary.
