13 December 2018 (09:31)

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 13, 2018. Nikita Goryunov’s team (Head of Coal-Mining Section 5: Yaroslav Yerchenko) started working on Long-Face 50-20 at EVRAZ Holding’s Raspadskaya Mine, Raspadskaya Coal Company’s press service reports.

This is the first long-face in Bank 50 of the company’s Western Wing. The coal reserves are estimated at more than 1.9 million tons of GZh coal.

The mining equipment had to get transferred on site from the already finished section in Eastern Wing, that is, across over 4.2 km. Despite the distance and the transportation issues, miners started working on the new long-face exactly on schedule. Work teams from Section 5, Uskovskaya Mine’s Mining Vehicles, and Assembly Department’s Sections 1 and 7 proved particularly helpful in ensuring the speedy reinstallation of the mining appliances.

The miners will be working in Western Wing through the end of 2020 and are expected to produce some 5m tons of coal within this period. Later on, they will move on to Long-Face 48.

Uskovskaya Mine produces the valuable coal of GZh variety that get processed at Kuznetskaya and Abashevskaya Processing Plants and then gets delivered onto EVRAZ Holding’s metallurgical enterprises. The coal is also popular with external customers in Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, and Ukraine.
