UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 18, 2018. Nikita Goryunov’s team (head of Section 5: Yaroslav Yerchenko) extracted 2,000,000,000 kg of coal from EVRAZ Holding’s Uskovskaya Mine between January and December 2018. Interestingly, miners from the holding’s Alardinskaya Mine reached the same output figure in September, Raspadskaya Coal Company’s PR Department reports.

‘The mining team at Section 5 is one of Raspadskaya Coal Company’s most advanced and close-knit groups. The miners can set these output records not only because they are using highly productive equipment and comply with all the industrial safety rules, but also because they rely on a long-standing mentorship tradition. Nikita Goryunov (29) became the team leader in October 2018 and is now being guided and mentored by Oleg Moskalenko, who’s worked in the mine for thirty years now. There are 126 people on the team altogether. These miners produced this year’s first 1,000,000,000 kg of coal as early as May,’ the company press service says.

Uskovskaya Mine produces valuable coking coal of the GZh variety that gets processed at Kuznetskaya and Abashevskaya Processing Plants and then gets delivered onto EVRAZ’s metallurgical enterprises. The coal is also popular with outside customers in Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, and Ukraine.
