Grozny Mall Construction Site Uses EVRAZ NTMK’s Steel H-Beams

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, April 2, 2019. EVRAZ Nizhny Tagil Metallurgical Plant (EVRAZ NTMK) supplied more than 3,000 H-beams onto the construction site of Grozny Mall in the Northern Caucasus, EVRAZ Holding Ural’s Corporate Relations Center reports.
The H-beams (6.5 to 12.5 meters long) got used to put up the principal framework of the building. The parallel beams are made from S345-5 steel with vanadium alloy, which makes the product more wear- and corrosion-resistant. The use of parallel beams in the construction process makes it possible to both cut down on costs and increase the framework’s overall sturdiness.
‘EVRAZ NTMK’s White-Flange Beam-Rolling Department can now manufacture more than 300 different kinds of H-beams. We also plan to master a few more varieties along the EU standards HE 200 and HE 180 this year. EVRAZ NTMK’s beams were used to make large sports facilities across Russia, including the Olympic sites in Sochi, the stadiums for the World Football Championship 2018, and the facilities for Krasnoyarsk Winter 2019 Universiade,’ the company’s press service says.
Grozny Mall is going to become the South of Russia’s largest shopping center. The four-level recreation facility will host 180 shops, 19 restaurants and cafes, a movie theater, and an underground parking lot big enough for 800 cars. The area (132,027 m2) is the equivalent of 25+ football pitches. The mall is 80% complete at the moment.
