EVRAZ NTMK Supplies Beams for Moscow Underground

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, October 3, 2017. EVRAZ Holding’s Nizhniy Tagil Integrated Metallurgical Works (NTMK) supplied over 3,000,000 kg of special H-beams to Moscow Underground’s new Salaryevo Depot; once launched, the depot will be in charge of O&M jobs for Sokolnicheskaya Line, EVRAZ Holding Ural’s Corporate Relations Center reports.
‘EVRAZ NTMK’s 70B1 S 255 H-beams are used as wire frames in accordance with the ‘diaphragm wall’ method. Thanks to their enhanced strength, H-beams can be efficiently used in the construction process instead of concrete and iron-and-concrete structures,’ the press service says.
The depot is expected to get launched in 2019. Moscow Underground’s development program for 2017-2020 covers construction and reconstruction of ten depots all in all.
EVRAZ NTMK beams are used in quite a few urban infrastructure development projects in Moscow and other parts of Russia. They are a reliable component of building metal frames. NTMK makes over two hundred kinds of H-beams with varying strength grades. Using hot-rolled steel H-beams allows for decreased metal use in the process.
