ChelPipe Group Launches Automated Emission Control System

24 October 2018 (09:21)

UrBC, Pervouralsk, October 24, 2018. ChelPipe Group is now one of the first Russian metallurgical enterprises to introduce an automated emission control system at the plant, the Group’s press service reports.

The system has been launched at the Group’s Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant (PNTZ); it relies on the innovative research findings that allow for giving up on manual gauging completely and for getting 100% of data automatically. The project required around RUR 20m in investments.

The equipment comprises a multi-component infrared gas analyzer, a gas flowmeter, and a dust analyzer. The system makes it possible to control the maximum permissible discharge/emission limit for nitrogen oxide, nitrogen dioxide, carbon oxide, sulphur dioxide, and suspended matter, as well as water volume ratio, the amount of oxygen, and flue gas temperature/absolute pressure/speed/mass flow.

‘The automated emission control system is the best technology available in the production/environmental control sector at the moment. The system helps us adjust and improve our tech processes and ensure 100% environmental safety and compliance. This is exactly the approach that the current and upcoming environmental regulations call for,’ says PNTZ Managing Director Alexei Dronov.
