UrBC, Chelyabinsk, December 27, 2018. ChelPipe Group’s Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant (ChelPipe) and Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant (PNTZ) both had their their environmental management systems audited for compliance with the international standard ISO 14001:2015, the Group’s press service reports.

The two plants’ environmental management system proved efficient. ChelPipe got audited by the international certificating body SAI Global and PNTZ by TUV Rheinland.

The certification authorities’ auditors were quite impressed with the Group’s environmental protection programs. For one, a large-scale project for the construction of manufacturing water-filtering facilities took off at ChelPipe this year. The Group will invest more than RUB 600 million into the project at the initial stage alone. PNTZ, for its part, is working to upgrade its waterworks system and has launched a new facility for automatic pollutant monitoring this year.

A multi-aspect environmental protection program that we are working on in compliance with the international requirements is part of ChelPipe Group’s strategy. The annual recertification audit proves both that our companies are reliable businesses and that our product quality is truly good. We keep on improving our quality management system and environmental management system to comply with our long-term program aimed at reducing our environmental impact,’ says the Group’s Director-General Boris Kovalenkov.

Both ChelPipe and PNTZ hold proper waste treatment licenses as well as licenses to monitor their air and water resources. An internationally acknowledged certification procedure is a must for all companies willing to supply their produce outside of Russia and the CIS member states.
