ChelPipe Group Holds WorldSkills Championship

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, May 22, 2018. The corporate round of the blue-collar job championship WorldSkills Hi Tech rounded up in ChelPipe Group’s Training Center; thirty-four workers from the Group’s pipe-manufacturing and oilfield service divisions competed in the contest, the Group’s press service reports.

‘ChelPipe Group’s employees in the 18-28 age group competed in seven different categories on May 15-17, 2018. All the corporate round challenges met the international WorldSkills standards. Twenty-nine contestants came from the company’s pipe manufacturing department and five more - from the oilfield service one. WorldSkills contests as well as professional skills competitions are part of the Group’s HR policy targeted at encouraging the employees to improve their existing skills as well as acquire new qualifications,’ says Managing Director of ChelPipe Group’s Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant (PNTZ) Alexei Dronov.

Gold winner of the 6th WorldSkills Russia, repair technician from PNTZ’s Iron Ozone 32 Department Maxim Koryakin won the first prize in Reverse Engineering.

PNTZ’s metallurgical equipment repair technician Vitaly Lopatin came first in Prototyping.

ChelPipe Group’s Future of White-Coated Metallurgy Corporate Training Program alumnus and member of WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017 Russian national team Maxim Populov won in Industrial Mechanics & Assembly.

Denis Temnikov from the Group’s Tatarstan-based Alnas won the first prize in Industrial Robotics.
