UrBC, Magnitogorsk, April 17, 2018. A group of Yekaterinburg delegates came to Magnitogorsk to take a tour of sites and facilities supported by MMK Group’s Metallurg Charity Foundation, the plant’s Information, PR & Advertising Department reports.
The delegation was chaired by Sverdlovsk Region’s Deputy Minister for Social Policy Sergey Zolotov and directors of Nizhniy Tagil-based centers.
The goal was to look into Metallurg’s practices of involving non-profit organizations in the social welfare sector.
The visitors learned about the performance of the foundation’s partner organizations: the local clinic’s geriatric department and MMK’s Yuzhny Sanatorium. They also went to Veteran Residential Home, the Medical/Social Welfare Center, Maternity Center, and subsidized pharmacy, canteen, and supermarket.
‘The delegates were particularly interested in the Social Welfare Center, Chelyabinsk Region’s only non-profit organization that offers social services. The center caters for MMK’s long-service employees who hold state awards and MMK METIZ’s honored retirees,’ the Department says.
