UrBC, Magnitogorsk, August 13, 2019. Metallurg Foundation has been working on its multi-aspect children’s charity project for nearly two decades now, mostly thanks to support from Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK), the foundation’s primary donor.

According to MMK’s Information, PR & Advertising Department, the project covers Together, Maternity & Child Welfare, Happy Family, Our Children, Kaleidoscope, and Magnitogorsk’s Gifted Children Programs.

For one, there’s a focus on social and financial support of mothers and young children, natality programs, and upholding family values. Maternity Center got set up to provide healthcare services to expectant mothers free of charge, with up to 150 pregnant women in their second and third trimesters coming in as patients every month.

Maternity Center carried out a special social project on Woman’s Health As A Factor in Supporting Families & Family Values recently. This project, coordinated by Metallurg Foundation, won one of last year’s first presidential grant contests for non-profit organizations. The primary goal of the project is to provide social, medical, and psychological support for pregnant women and their families throughout the pregnancy.

The project centered on the female employees of Magnitogorsk’s industrial enterprises who come to Maternity Center as patients as its target audience. 320 pregnant women and 64 expectant fathers took part in the nine-month program; 226 families received e-mails as part of the outpatient support program, and 152 children (90 girls and 62 boys) were born during the program.
