UrBC, Magnitogorsk, April 10, 2018. The final round of the All-Russian Glory to The Man of Labor Contest took place in Magnitogorsk recently, Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) Information, PR & Advertising Department reports.
‘Contestants from four different constituencies — thirteen qualified engineers from ten different companies and eleven students from six different colleges - competed in Mechatronics on campus of Magnitogorsk Polytechnic. Mechatronics is a rapidly developing discipline that helps design computer-aided machines. Mechatronics comprises some principles of mechanics, IT, microprocessing technologies, and computer science. Mechatronics is used in machine-building and industrial automation equipment development and for making the military, aviation, aerospace, and medical appliances. The list of applications goes on,’ MMK says.
For two days, the contestants competed in Qualified Engineers and Young Professionals groups. They had to cope with both exam-type questions and practical challenges in order to prove their expertise and demonstrate their skills and professional training. A board of experts was there to evaluate their performance, including a representative of the German firm FESTO that manufactures pneumatic and automated machines.
