UrBC, Magnitogorsk, October 27, 2017. The 44th WorldSkills Competition 2017 recently closed in Abu Dhabi, with Russia’s national team winning the first prize. Representatives of Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) — students of Magnitogorsk Polytechnic Alexander Arapov and Maxim Aksenov — competed in Mechatronics and won the Skills Medal, MMK Information, PR & Advertising Department reports.
‘The Skills Medals are given out to contestants who fully completed their task, scored at least 500 points, and proved their exceptional professional competence. In fact, this year’s MMK representatives got the same medals as MMK’s Alexandra Karnaukhova and Konstantin Krementsov did in São Paulo during the world championship of 2015. This time, the plant’s representatives proved once again that Magnitogorsk Polytechnic does a great job of training its students in Mechatronics and thus preparing highly skilled blue-collar workers for MMK. The plant itself invested quite a bit in setting up all the facilities necessary to ensure good quality education at the college,’ the Department says.
WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017 got held at Abu Dhabi’s Adnec Exhibition Center. 1,300 applicants from seventy-seven different countries competed in the event. The next WorldSkills Championship will take place in Kazan, Tatarstan, in 2019.
